O mês passado apresentei-vos alguma da influência que a Bossa Nova teve nos cantores portugueses. Este mês é a vez dos americanos. Estes deixaram-se influenciar agradavelmente com calma e serenidade. Ora vejam estes três exemplos.
1. Meditation (Meditação), Frank Sinatra, Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim (1967)
Na extensa discografia do grande Frank Sinatra (1915 - 1998) surge em 1967 com o álbum Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim. Do álbum apresento-vos Meditation (Meditação), igual ao estilo marcante que Sinatra impôs à sua forma de cantar. Contudo esta versão não foge muito ao original. Sarah Vaughan (1924 - 1990), uma das mais injustiçadas vozes do jazz americano também se deixou encantar pelo Brasil. Apresento-vos a versão de Sarah duma das músicas mais bonitas da Bossa Nova Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars (Corcovado). Esta música foi retirada da compilação The Antonio Carlos Jobim Songbook. 3. Desafinado, Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Abraça Tom (1981)
O swing brasileiro seduziu a maravilhosa voz de Ella Fitzgerald (1917 - 1996). Em 1981 Ella surge com o álbum Ella Abraça Tom também conhecido como Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Antonio Carlos Jobim Songbook donde retirei esta fabulosa versão da música Desafinado.
